We live about 3 hours from St. Louis. We're heading up there for a Blues game Sunday Dec. 28 and we may stay the night Saturday Dec. 27. We know the general touristy things to do. Any other suggestions for Saturday Night/Sunday Morning? There's 5 of us, ages: 46, 45, 24, 23, 19. Thanks.

What time will yas be getting to StL Saturday - just that evening or more afternoon, time to explore/play?

What area will be staying most likely?

What about Delmar/Loop area - many and interesting things in that area too. If yas like Pink Floyd - highly recommend going to the Pageant to see El Monstero y Los Masked Avengers, one most excellent shows; have seen 'em every year since the 2nd one after they started... love 'em. Of course, there are other good stuff in that area too.

I assume we'll probably leave Saturday morning.

I doubt we'll be going to any concerts. We don't plan on spending a lot for activities or food. And it's right after Christmas, so we probably won't have a lot of cash to burn.

The Delmar Loop is an interesting idea, but I don't know if my parents care much for that.

We thought about doing the Brewery Tour, since we haven't yet. We've done the zoo numerous times, most the museums, the arch (though not in years).

It's not a big rush obviously, we have until December. Thanks for the suggestions, but I don't know if we'll be looking to spend much money. And we all have different tastes in music.

The Brewery is beautiful during the holidays at night. The tour will kill 2 hours if you linger in the gift shop but the last tour probably ends right around dark.

I would avoid getting sucked into Union Station.

A walk up or down Washington Ave might be a surprise. Lot of new stuff going on this past year if you haven't been.

I would love to walk around and explore Downtown, but we don't do much of that. We're sheltered country folk. Obviously Downtown isn't that dangerous, but I think my parents would still feel uncomfortable exploring a city a night.

We like to take the kids to see the lights at Our Lady of the Snows Shrine, in the metro east. Google their website for more info.
Maybe your parents would enjoy it?!

Or go through "Winter Wonderland" in Tilles Park which is definitely safe. Unfortunately they do not permit cars to drive through the display on Saturday night, so you would have to reserve a horse drawn carriage for 5 which costs a hefty $78 online (quite a bit more than the $9 drive through car price during the week!) The carriage ride would definitely be more memorable, but we've always just driven through the display ourselves in the comfort and much lower cost of our own vehicle.

MetroTix, Inc.

You should go somewhere good for Sunday brunch (Duff's? Bristols?) before you leave town too!

The City Museum downtown on Washington Street is wild. If you have kids, go in the daytime. If not, you might want to check out the evening action there and along Washington Street.

We've been to City Museum, though it's been a few years. I'm sure it's gotten bigger since then.
