It'll be hard to drink that beer with the jagged edge and the shards of glass. I'm just looking out for your best interest.

Um yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. Considering the LAST time the New Madrid had a MAJOR slip, the Mississippi River ran backwards for 2 minutes and church bells rang in Boston... thinking the bottled water isn't going to be much help. Scary thought, I know.

the rivers will be a major problem around here in the event of an earthquake. This area sits on a floodplain without a solid bedrock. There will be a lot damage due to liquefaction.

I would GLADLY go through an earthquake with you! I was there when the one in 1969 hit. Scared us to death. I still remember everything about it. It felt massive. I can't even imagine the ones that hit Haiti and Chile.

basically thats the way it always is when any major disaster. Local news media will also find someway to rile of the populace for ratings.

But it is always a good idea to have some sort of disaster preparedness plans around. Even small events like extended power shortages are easier to handle if you have some sort of plan.
