Any ideas? Creve Couer park is massive, Forest Park I believe is too. I need a place to jog. Any recommendations?

My favorite is Tower Grove Park; my second choice was Carondolet Park right off of South Grand.

My running area of choice it through Benton Park neighborhood and Soulard, including the Cherokee / Lemp District. Be sure to map it out though as many of the streets do not go thru because of I-55.

When I moved here from Boulder (elite runners paradise), I was genuinely surprised to find such strong running community in the greater St. Louis metro area. As a high-level competitive runner, here are some links that may help you indoctrate into the STL running community:

St. Louis Track Club
FLEET FEET Sports St. Louis

Creve Coeur, Katy Trail and Grant's Trail are great for long, flat stretches/speedwork. Forest Park/Tower Grove have nice rolling hills but LOCK YOUR VEHICLE, particularly in Tower Grove Park. Carondolet Park gets old quite quickly, and has some "unpleasant" elements about it. The Riverfront Trail in downtown STL is awful and smelly.

You may want to look at Illinois as well - Illinois has faster and better runners than St. Louis, from my racing experiences.

Good Luck!

Good Running!

Yay, thanks for the info everyone! I have another question. I'm not an advanced runner. I was a track runner in highschool but now I'm soooo out of shape when it comes to running. Is Tower Grove Park the kind of place that I'd be embarrassed to run? I might feel intimidated if everyone is really athletic and fast. I'm not just anymore. Trying to get back there though.

Check out MapMyRun.com | Show Running Routes in Dallas, Tx where you can search your area for routes that other runners have posted online. You can see how long the route is (i.e. 5K). It's great for a change of pace, or for switching between trails and streets.

^ Ignore the part about Dallas in the link above. I had it set for St. Louis when I copied/pasted the link. If for some reason it brings up Dallas, just redo the search!
