The last couple of weeks my 2011 Subaru has started to lose power nor does it want to rev past 3,000RPM nor will it go past 25MPH. . I don’t smell anything like you would when a cat goes out. To make matter’s worse there is no check engine light on it was on before I did the following. Not sure if a sensor would smell like a cat going out. I don’t smell any gas but if need be I’ll replace the fuel filter/pump. I’m using the process of elimination here.
Changed out the plugs, changed out the coil pack in cylinder #1 because there was a misfire, changed the oil/filter.
Cleaned out the MAP sensor was planning on replacing it but it looked pretty clean so I just cleaned it.
Just yesterday I replaced the PCV valve which was overdue to be replaced. After I replaced that it didn’t want to die at idle. I also took the negative battery cable off and left it off for 15 minutes. shot in the dark there.
Someone mentioned doing an idle relearn but I don’t see that fixing the problem.
It is a manual if that helps and it has 167K on it. I had a Mazda which did the same thing and the intake hose was cracked and i replaced it. The intake hose on it is in good shape so no need to replace it…
I might of missed something i asked the same question on a Subaru forum but didn’t get any answers that I’ve already tried. This is my only ride so any help would be very much appreciated!!
More than likely restricted exhaust system. Best way to diagnose it would be to disconnect the exhaust pipe as close to the exhaust manifold as possible and drive it. If the manifold itself is coming apart inside you might see it with a good flashlight.
Vacuum leaks are another but I don't know much about Subarus.

Thanks I'll check into that.
I posted it in the general forum of automotive because this happens to all cars and i would of got more results.
I would join the Subaru forum for your model. Then post there in the appropriate sub-forum. Yes, it may be a smaller community than City Data. But, all the members will own the same model of car as you, and they will have a lot of collective knowledge about what the likely suspects are as to causes for symptoms observed in this specific model.

I did as I mentioned above and asked the same question.

On YouTube that could be a number of things and with the number of things that could be I would suggest to spend 90 to 110 bucks on a decent scanner. I recommend blue driver for ease of use and functionality. Let's try this again real quick we'll just do the quick and it could be a lot of electronic problems there could be other issues I don't even want to say because I don't want to frighten you so get that diagnostic tool for throwing any more parts at.
I would say check your fuel pressure before you replace a fuel filter because fuel filters have been known to break apart at a certain period and go down the fuel line I've had that happen to me before. I assume you've looked at your air filter. I don't want to sound condescending but check all of your intake hoses and the front end where the intake comes in.

I knew I forgot something I did swap out the air filter
Shouldn't I smell gas if there was a bad fuel line?
I know someone whose got a code reader but with no check engine light on, will I still get a read?

You only smell gas if there's a leak in the fuel line I had a truck once that I was driving down the freeway and it started getting very sluggish and it's because the fuel filter was so bad pieces of it went down the fuel line and obstructed the flow. There wasn't a fuel leak it was just a restricted fuel line.
Yeah if there's any computer component that's making a code you'll get a read. The check engine light doesn't necessarily come on just because there's a code
