Does anyone have a suggestion for a supplement that can help with degenerative disc disease? I am in near constant pain and my mobility and ability to function normally are becoming a distant memory.

A re-birth. DDD is advanced in my body and I try so much and try to get off some OTC pain meds and end up with more pain.

I take Cosamin DS daily now into 5th month.
Upped Omega 3's to double the dose directions.
MSM powder in higher doses (see my post in Alt Med)

Am buying a new turmeric supplement in my next order.
Black Seed Oil internally "could" help.

There are SO MANY things to try and I've tried so many. I think when the discs degenerate they just do. I'm not into a back surgery for sure.

No fun for sure.

For me my back pain started at 18 and I did a full life with a lot of chiro and a lot of active stuff and feel the hip replacement in 2010 was the crowning blow to it all, body is so OFF since the surgery..right side is pretty nasty and right hip was replaced. I'll be 80 t his year....so lots of years of back stuff.

I’m right there with you. I’ve been dealing with this for 28 years and at 63 it’s getting worse all the time. The strongest thing I take is Advil which helps a little for an hour or so. Everything I do is a struggle with pain. Some days the lower back pain is off the charts, other days the pain down the back of my right leg nearly puts me down. It’s getting so that getting out of bed and walking is an effort. Never ever thought I would end up like this, especially since I used to be as strong as an ox.

I know they’ve come a long way with surgery but I’ve just heard way too many horror stories of people that end up worse after surgery. I’m pretty sure I’m bone on bone with a couple of discs ruptured. Just about willing to try anything that doesn’t involve a knife.

Ron61, I just thought of this..You are much younger than me and this could work for you even if one gets 20-30% or whatever relief...regenerative medicine. It's coming on strong in Calif and I'd bet strong in FL too. I have read Ross Hauser's site and he's in midwest but I remember it saying he's in FL too....but that is just one MD doing these injections. Too many have failed back surgeries and every now and then we hear of success but how many I have no idea. But often one surgery leads to another and then another etc etc etc....
