Experience report, Day 3: I took one 500 mg. Inositol about halfway between dinner and bedtime, and I skipped the melatonin. It worked! I had a great night's sleep. I will try the same thing tonight.

Good, keep working with it, I swear it works great for me.
Thank you again for the recommendation, jaminhealth.
You are welcome and I have no issues in being a guinea pig with so many supplements I've worked with. And if someone else reports success, that is very good. I've been hanging with many holistic people for many years.
I still think the key to good sleep is exercise. I do the treadmill 30 minutes at least every other day, mild weight lifting and stretching exercises. Also, take magnesium before bedtime which I am sure is a factor.

That works for you and that's great. My major exercise days are behind me, too much joint damage in my body so deal with lots of chronic pain issues. I worked out for years and had to stop doing major work in my mid 60's...J.B. that is good and I'm sure you are much younger than me and others here. I know many still can do a lot of hard work in the 70's and beyond but many cannot. Magnesium rules in my life too.
I tried to order the California poppy supplement on the site you linked, jaminhealth, but they wanted me to create an account. I would prefer not to do that. Instead I found another product from Gaia Herbs called Black Elderberry Nighttime Syrup that contains black elderberry, California poppy and lemon balm. I just ordered a bottle and am looking forward to trying it and will post an experience report.
The Inositol is still helping a little bit, but I'm not sleeping as soundly as I'd like unless I take melatonin with it. Tonight I might try doubling the dose from one to two 500 mg. capsules and see if that works.

Well on doubling the Inositol, you could take one 500mg now and then one more about an hour before you hit the pillow. Gotta get it in your body and built up and you are so new on it.
The Gaia product sounds good too, with the poppy and lemon balm which I have a bottle of Marissa aka Lemon balm.
Try different supps and find that good "sweet spot" for your sleep.
I had some pain last night which woke me up, my hip replacement thigh was aching...That surgery has really done a job on me...I've got to make sure to rub down both legs with Topricin before I go to sleep. THis product works wonders, a great homeopathic product.

Thanks, jaminhealth. I have already taken one with dinner and will take the other dose before bedtime.

I am so sorry that you are in pain. That sounds awful. I hope the Topricin works. I've got a tube of Aspercreme, which my best friend's doctor recommends, but I haven't had an occasion to try it yet. It might be better for muscular aches and pains than for joint pain, though. CBD creams work well, but the good stuff is mega expensive.
