I don't shop Costco but I know many do. A friend and her daughter use this product which they get at Costco and it's helped my friend a lot in the years she's taking this combo. I bought it a couple times but tend to stick with what I use. I question the quality of Costco supplements but who knows perhaps they are just fine. Good prices that's for sure.
Costco has consistently tested with excellent results, and most of their items are USP or similarly certified.

I notice their number 1 match in herbal supplements is Astaxanthin which comes from shellfish and is being studied for cognitive protection for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. It is also protective for the liver, so it may interfere with blood glucose control drugs and supplements. We don't use it currently but there has been a lot of coverage of it in science programs on NHK. It is supposed to be able to cross the blood-brain barrier. We've been using phosphatidylserine which seems to help with sleep and cognition. Melatonin and other sleep-enhancing drugs will accelerate the dementia decline.

Your last sentence, do you mean "will accelerate dementia'? Or will they reduce dementia. Some of the sleep drugs I have read including benedryl advance dementia.
Benadryl belongs to a class of drugs called anticholinergic. The report linking dementia dealt with this.
There was also a study that the brain had difficulty forming memories when sleep was supplemented with Melatonin.
From what I've been told by therapists, both infections and antibiotics will make it worse. That might be why Zinc is recommended. You can't stop infections but might make them occur less often and for a shorter duration.

I've been fortunate that I never went beyond 1mg melatonin for some time as I do take companion supps for my sleep...and now since I've been working with the new HGH homeopathic gel I'm cutting back from 1mg to 1/4 or 1/2mg and pretty soon maybe none. I'll see how that goes.
