some things to consider -- bile salts, apple cider vinegar, digestive enzymes
bile is used to break down fats. so a fat break down helper like digestive enzyme lipase makes a lot of sense.
primer for the casual reader -- the gall bladder stores bile. when food leaves the stomach it is acidic and gets hit with a shot of alkaline bile from the gallbladder. a fizzing reaction occurs from the alkaline bile/acid, which is key to breaking down fats.
too, it's key to have enough stomach acid to trigger the shot of bile. this is what makes apple cider vinegar a good general strategy for digestion -- it helps with stomach acid, with the benefits cascading through the digestive system
Supplement needed for gallbladder removal? Maybe. Maybe not. Hopefully by the time you are in recovery for your surgery, your doctor has already gone over your diet and necessary supplementation, if any. Even if you had to have emergency surgery you'd have this discussion before you're ready to start eating solids again. If it's a planned surgery, then you'd have this discussion before you show up on removal day.
Unless Dr. Berg is YOUR doctor, and has discussed with you PERSONALLY your situation and needs, I wouldn't waste a moment checking his video, or advice, or book, or buying his supplements.
My thoughts now are the same as they were three months ago.
Don't buy whatever a stranger on the internet recommends, just because they link you to lots of youtube videos and amazon books written by more people you've never personally consulted with.
A doctor that specializes in digestive disorders, and actually performs gall bladder surgery, that you personally consult with, in person, is the #1 source for your advice. Internet advice will be in LAST PLACE. Your next door neighbor who sells encyclopedias for a living will be a more useful source of advice for you than Dr. Berg on the internet.

Many cults operate under this guise of secret knowledge. The Catholic church said for a long time that only they could interpret scripture, awfully convenient for them..
What if you consult two doctors and get different answers?
Replacing the function of the gall bladder with a supplement, seems kinda reasonable to me. But either way, tons of information on the internet to help anyone make an informed decision
Had my gall bladder removed 12 years ago. Have had problems with queezy stomach and diahrea. A year ago I saw a specialist who prescribed Cholestyramine which helps control the bile. Still have diahrea two or three times a week. It sucks but dieting seems like a lot of work. I know I should and hopefully will. Might talk to my doctor, about the right diet.
After my gall bladder was removed, I had terrible problems with diarrhea. My doc prescribed cholestryrsmine/Questran for me and it was an absolute lifesaver. Sometimes I can still get the runs after I take it but generally speaking my diarrhea issues got under control due to this drug. When I’m eating super healthy for a long period of time I can get away from taking it.
I had my gallbladder removed about 8 years ago - what a relief that was. A stone got stuck in the bile duct while we were out of town at a family function. Jaundice and fever for 3 days until I went to emergency room. They put a shunt in the bile duct to let the fluid drain and because I am on blood thinners they couldn't operate immediately. Had the surgery and all is well.
The removal cured what all the doctors thought was GERD, but it was actually my gallbladder failing. I used to wake up in the middle of the night with a mouth full of bile and some of it in my lungs.
I have not needed any supplements or medications. Life has been good since the removal!
I know this is old, but just in case someone else is wondering. I went to a nutritionist who recommended an ox blood supplement after gall bladder removal. I also asked my gastroenterologist doctor, who said it was hogwash.
I have had no noticeable effects after having my gallbladder removed.
