I used to take a bolus of 30,000 iu's every week, but now do about 2000 iu's per day. We'll see how that goes. I read you need to take it with some form of fats, and also magnesium.
Finally got my levels to 64 recently and I felt best when they were at 80. I alternate 5K and 10K daily and take K2 and Vit A. I believe so many would be alive today if their D levels were optimal.
I guess it could help to massage some Vit D cream into one's skin.

There's a reason why the media doesn't discuss alternative forms of healing/prevention. Coincidence? I think not.
Powers that be WANT the people sick/to get sick.
I've built up my immune system over the last 10+ years by taking supplements and vitamins, and also getting plenty of exercise. I haven't had the flu in over thirty years (I am 49) and I've never taken the flu shot. My son who is 18 has NEVER had the flu and doesn't take the flu shot either. My last "regular cold" was 2 years ago. I've never been so healthy in my entire life. We will not be getting the CV jab. I go maskless whenever I can (especially at the gym - it's so important to properly breathe while exercising, especially when your heart rate is elevated).
I wish people would use their own discernment and think for themselves and actually do some research, instead of relying on misleading media to guide them along.
the media is owned by pharma industry owned by vanguard or black rock -
Though vitamin D is necessary but the right dosage is important my doctor recommended to take for two months and then stop for two months then again recommended for two months. Continuous consumption is not good.
The evidence that taking Vit D supplements helps prevent or treat any diseases is pretty flimsy to non-existent.
OTOH- because most people don't include enough dairy product (the only good source of Calcium) in their diets, and don't get out in the sun very much, taking a Ca + Vit D supplement is a good idea....Just get the house brand "calcium + D Antacid" stuff OTC. ...Start taking it early enough in life to prevent (or at least slow down) the natural bone mineral loss that occurs with aging.
Not true in most cases.
If one's baseline levels (i.e. serum Vit. D with no supplementation) are always low, "continuous consumption" is fine. Beneficial even.
Thing is, you need blood tests to confirm; both one's baseline, and post-supplementation levels. After which, you can determine proper dosage.

Surprised to hear you say that. Might be more correct to say that the evidence shows more of an association than causation.

Plenty of evidence that low D is correlated with everything from dandruff to cancer to heart attacks.(you're right about "associated with.")...
...But just based on logic we can see that pathology probably causes the low D, rather than low D causing the pathology--> If Dis A occurs in 20% of people (contrived numbers for easy arithmetic) and disease B occurs in 40% of people, then both Dis A AND B should occur in 0.2 x 0.4 = .08 or 8% of people....But we don't see that with the diseases supposedly "caused" by low D.
Additionally, none of the conditions associated with low D- from autoimmune diseases to vascular diseases to various cancers have been shown to have improved outcomes with D supplementation, nor prevented to any clinically important extent. (There's a difference between "statistically significant" and "clinically relevant.")
It would be nice if a Vit pill could do all that, but it's wishful thinking.

Good observation in your previous comment.
Just want to clarify something here. Vit D3 is NOT a vitamin. It's a hormone. A steroid hormone, to be precise. Increased information in recent years is showing people suffering strokes, heart attacks and cancer are deficient in Vit D3. Does that mean for certain that the lack of D3 in the body is the primary cause? No. It doesn't but it's certainly something worth researching deeper.
Most people think they're D3 levels are fine because they live in a sunny part of the country but it's not true and they're shocked when they find out they're deficient. The quickest way to find out is to have a blood test. It doesn't hurt and could prove to be very beneficial, especially in the long term.
