When you have an idea of what the people in the Great exodus out of places like California desire and are seeking then you can have a clear vision of we should focus on to become more attractive to outside talent.

What does that have to do with Syracuse though? I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I'm just curious how that is relevant to the area.
Some people may not want everything that guy wanted or where he lives as well. Everyone doesn't want a Mc Mansion in the suburbs. Some may want urban amenities or something in between the two. There are other factors that some people may not consider that others do.
You're right, probably over generalized. Of course, some want to live in a walkable city or downtown. I'd love to see mass transit everywhere and trails and bike paths. ^Yeah, it isn't like it was in the past on here...I think in terms of the area, there will be a good mix of folks that will look for urban, suburban and rural environments or those in between. The thing with this area is that you aren't too far from much of anything and no matter where you live, you don't have to contend with too many folks. That's even with the projected increase in population due to the Micron announcement.
I know that the Valley has woods around it and can have some wildlife nearby such as deer in parts of the city, but I can’t recall seeing bears within city limits like this.

Here is a recent video about the Meadowbrook Gardens and the neighborhoods in that area of the city's East Side(Meadowbrook/Bradford Hills/Scottholm): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqINfFtnd4Y
It is a nice, solidly middle class and relatively diverse area of the city. Nottingham HS and Barry Park are in that general area.
