I'm planning for a garden overhaul for next year and am wondering if anyone here knows if there's a local vendor that sells heirloom vegetable seeds. TIA!

Much as I hate to just tell people "buy it online" - I think you may not really have any other options for this.

The Moderator cut: one must not mention that have some links.

You only need the seed to get started. With non-hybrid plants you can save your own seed.

Precisely. And actually, my garden was overrun with hybrid progeny this year... from several years' worth of hybrid plants. lol - radishes, carrots, romas and dill, rototilled and washed downhill a bit and choking my new plants. Impressive plants would pop up but the quality of the radishes and tomatoes were FAR subpar.

Next year, it's getting into black puree with a load of bonemeal and horse manure. lol - with heirloom seeds that actually might produce something worth eating.

I don't know alot about that stuff. Hybrids solve alot of old problem but I suppose cause some as well.

When I was farming on old farms you will find an old shed/shop. In most of them I seen boards with a crapload of nails sticking out. I was told thats how they got seed corn. They'd pick out the best looking ears and shove them on the nails to dry.

With that I'm out of information.
