Any word-of-mouth on the new taqueria in that neighborhood? No website that I can see, but it could be worth a try.

I went this past Thursday and posted on syracuse.com about it. User "petgiraffe" went a few days later and appears to have liked the food a bit more than we did. In either case - worth visiting.

Thanks, Phaelon. I'll try to stop by over Christmas.

I like the location, but the food would have to be pretty good to steal much lunchtime business from the Welcome Inn a few blocks away (which is the hidden gem of that neighborhood).

I'm perfectly comfortable driving there for dinner after dark but I suspect I'm among a small group of potential dinner patrons who feel that way. The food was "okay" but they need to do better than just okay to succeed in that location. In their defense - the two items we had are Mexican food and I think the ownership is not Mexican - but I don't know that for a fact.

I went to that "Mexican" restaurant. I didn't really care for it. The inside is nice and everything but it is not Mexican food. There is another restaurant down the road on Geddes called Don Juan Cafe which is a Puerto Rican restaurant which is probably the best food I've had since I've moved to Syracuse.

If you like Latin Caribbean food, then La Delicias on Westcott Street is worth a try.
