Thanks for posting the photos, Tyrosine. Upstate has really transformed the Geneva Tower from a filthy eyesore to a pretty attractive building. Kudos to the architect involved. The Ronald McDonald House, however looks horrible. At first glance I thought it was a double decker version of of the Microtel Inn, a low budget motel chain. It is difficult to publicly criticize the design (as some planning board members had) however when countless out-of-town families are being helped by the presence of the RMH. I will say the building looks like an eyesore and board members of the nonprofit organization should be ashamed of putting such a garbage design in front of city planners. No one wants to hold up or deny the construction of a much needed facility. Several architects, however, had proposed other designs that were immediately shot down by the board.

I don't think its that terrible of a design, but it is definitely not the greatest (and now that you pointed it out, it does look a bit like a Comfort Inn). The building does not go well with the rest of the area and its a shame that a design that would blend better with the neighborhood wasn't picked.
