Check out the Setnor School at SU. There are FREQUENT concerts, and receptions afterward. Free parking in the Dome Tix garage, a short walk uphill and you're there.

Caught Bill Horrace (who's playing regularly at Phoebe's) at Dolce Vita a month or so ago. He's terrific. Highly recommended.

Has there been any progress on bringing back the symphony? The Post-Standard reported in January that there was a schism between some board members trying to reorganize the symphony under the direction of SU. The board effectively disbanded.

Syracuse University-backed effort to create new symphony orchestra folds | syracuse.com

I continue to see advertisements from Symphony Syracuse on upcoming concerts.

It is odd as they still have a website showing upcoming performances: Symphony Syracuse :: Welcome

I believe that some of the musicians are involved the Syracuse Opera too: Syracuse Opera

Famous Artists 2013 schedule.

Pretty good slate; Jersey Boys and the Addams Family should be good. The Landmark is a better venue than Crouse-Hinds for a number of reasons, but my Bill Cosby experience left me a little surprised at how tightly 1920s-era moviehouse seats were packed together. Very little leg room up in the balcony.
