I'm attending SU in the fall for graduate school, and I'm looking for places to live in Syracuse. I'm wondering if anyone could suggest some safe, clean and affordable apartment complexes near(ish) campus. I have a car, so I would be willing to drive a little ways for a better apartment (up to 15 or 20 minutes). Safety is a big concern for me, as there is a good chance I may be living by myself. I also have plenty of furniture, so I'm looking for places that are unfurnished.

I'll be visiting Syracuse in a couple of weeks, so I just want to get a handle on apartments to visit while I'm up there.

Here is a great apartment guide that shows you a variety of apartments in the area: Syracuse Apartment Rentals | Syracuse NY Apartment Finder

What is your range in terms of rent?

In the ballpark between $400 to $600, so my budget is fairly tight.

Do you have a preference in terms of an urban or suburban neighborhood/area?

Not particularly, I just care that it's safe. I live in a fairly suburban area now, but I'm fine with urban as well. I have no pets either.

Hi rdwesse,

Here is the list of Apartment Complexes that I promised I would send you, organized by their suburb location. You told me that you might possibly share an apartment with another person in which case you could double the rent price. That is why I listed some of these places that have rents above your single-person rent range.
