Went to this spot last night and I suggest the Fish($4 on Friday) and Lobster Tacos: https://www.xotaco.com/
Place was pretty full inside and outside with young folks as well.
Brought a co-worker, who is Puerto Rican and originally from the Bronx, to this Spanish take out spot in Shop City Plaza that he didn’t know existed earlier this week: https://laylasauthenticrestaurant.com/
It was good enough that he went back the next day. He said the Yuca was good and reminded him of Puerto Rico and the Empanadas(Chicken & cheese and Beef & cheese) were made to order, big and full of flavor.
Also, went to this Peruvian chicken restaurant with I believe a Chinese owner/cook in Liverpool/Clay: https://www.cholitaschicken.com/
Chicken had good flavor, the sauces were good and the fried rice was pretty good.
Just to add in regards to the first restaurant, I would suggest the Oaxacan Beef taco. If you like General Yao’s flavor, there is that type of taco there and is good.
It gets pretty full during the day as well, with a nice mix of college students and people that work Downtown.
While it is in the CSA, this Downtown Auburn restaurant on State Street seems to be a pretty popular spot, but maybe lesser known to those in the immediate Syracuse area: https://www.prisoncitybrewing.com/
