I'm considering a home in Chittenango, N.Y. Can anyone offer any comments or advice about this town.
There is a builder, Ryan Homes, doing new construction in this community. Thi snew development seems promising.
Can anyone offer information about things such as road access, winter weather, taxes, water problems, schools, lifestyle, shopping, local politics etc;.
It seems as if this area is beginning to build up. Is this the case?
Any comments you might offer would be appreciated.
From what I remember (I was last in Chittenango a couple of years ago), it's a fairly nice community typical of towns in CNY. I imagine that taxes are average relative to the region, because it's not exactly a haven for the wealthy, nor particularly cheap. The waterfalls nearby are really worth the visit though, and the schools are well-performing.
As for the snow, it gets a little less than neighbors in Oswego County and Onondaga County, but not that much less.

I have a good impression of it.
Thanks for the insight. I'm hearing the taxes are on the high side. About $7k on about a $200k home (new construction).
