Syracuse area running out of phone numbers - 315 area code

I wonder if they pushed the year that this is to occur back a couple of years.
I'm guessing they know it's going to happen. It's been happening all over the country with the invention of the cell phone and everyone having to have one.
There are some areas in the 315 that surprise me. Then again, 518 blows my mind. It's such a huge area and I'm still amazed they haven't run out of numbers.
Never had reason to call anything in Syracuse so why would I have known??
I have a couple co-workers in Syracuse and I looked up the contact info in my phone and sure enough its 315.
In that map of the split one way I stay 315 and the other I don't. Trying to think of any issues and after a month or so of it being a pain I don't see a problem. The iPhone may even have an app that fixes it by itself.

Yeah, I'm surprised that 518 hasn't run out of numbers too.
What's interesting is that in the immediate Rochester area, they use the term 315er for people from Wayne County. So, 315 is a big area code.
See, everyone moved out of Syracuse so they are able to recycle the numbers.
