Towns in the Syracuse area with lowest tax rates (Auburn: homes, neighborhoods)

Key word is rate, as these towns may have higher home prices, which impact the rates.

What is interesting to me is the top three places to live in the Syracuse area in my opinion have the lowest tax rates.

1) Lysander

2) Skaneateles

3) Cazenovia

If Sennett had more neighborhoods and wasn't mostly farmland, I'd probably rate it high too.

If Sennett had more neighborhoods and wasn't mostly farmland, I'd probably rate it high too.

Those top three also have higher home prices/values. So, that likely plays a part in the lower rates(again, the key word).

To be fair, each of those towns also have some substantial degree of industry. So, that helps as well.

Something to keep in mind with Sennett for those interested is that a portion of the town is within the Skaneateles SD. So, you may be able to find a place with lower property tax rates and within a very good school district.

Sennett is also in Cayuga County near Auburn, which is the closest place in terms of shopping and having some other things to do(the Arts, festivals, a drive in, baseball games, etc.).
