First of all, I'd like to thank everyone who has replied to my previous posts. You've been a great help. My question now is "How is Tip Hill?". More specifically 312 Hamilton St. Syracuse, NY 13204. I am a 35 year old professional moving here by myself. Is this a good neighborhood for me?

Not a bad area. It's more of a blue collar neighborhood that is still very Irish, with some other groups like Ukranians and some people of color in the area.

If I were to move into the city, as opposed to the burbs, I would choose Tipp Hill

Tip Hill is good because it has decent rental properties and a growing contingent of young professionals. It still has an Irish working class flavor, and is reasonably safe. That said, my friend just moved back to the University area so he could walk to work.

I'm in my late 30s and buying a house in Tipp Hill right now. My husband and I are moving there because we think it's a fun area and it's close to downtown where my husband works at a law firm. When he told people at his firm that he's moving there a lot of them had lived there in college or when they were younger and didn't have a family. They seemed kind of nostalgic about it.

Tipp Hill is a wonderful neighborhood, near good parks, reasonably close to all of the essentials (groceries, shopping, attractions, dining/nightlife, etc.). Just make sure wherever you find has off-street parking... it's in short supply in some parts of the area.
