This has been a forever issue but I wanted to bring it up anyway. Why is the iPhone 5s camera so horrible?? The main issue is that it's blurry and takes FOREVER to focus on a shot thats more then 15 feet away..particularly if you use the zoom feature to any degree. Like if you're driving with a friend and want to take a picture of a freeway sign..forget it. By the time it focuses you've already driven by it. Most of the time I have to exit the camera and reenter it but that still doesn't work most of the time.
I even exchanged it at the Apple Store as it's still under warranty but the same thing is occurring.
My friend has a Samsung and BAM -- no issue. He can take a pic and it takes a millisecond for it to get its act together.

Poor lighting? I don't know.. here's some shots from my iPhone 5S

It's certainly no match for a point and shoot or my DSLR for that matter... but it's a cell phone that takes pretty darn acceptable photos. Maybe you have a case with dust/scratches on the lens? idk

Those look nice. Both iPhones so far have the focusing issue. It can take a decent pic at a close distance but no far away.
