I'm not an upgrade slave either. Two of the newer devices I got for free. The iPad 2 was 6 years old. I still use it for one task.

Old? Slow? A three year old 5s is not "old". Like I said, I apply the kitchen appliance philosophy to mobile electronics: Five years - minimum - between upgrades. Not feeding the profiteer oligarchs.

It matters less when you purchased it than when it came out - 2013, or 5 years ago. The 5s is significantly slower than the other iPhones, as you're finding out.

I am also slow to upgrade - I went from a 4 to a 7, and am still extremely happy with the 7.

I thought I had stated that the above websites were slow to load on all my devices, via wifi at home or cellular data on the road.

You did. And both of your devices were designed in 2013. Apple has sped up their processor speeds quite a bit since then, so your devices are slower than newer designs, whichever form of internet connection you use.
