With all the discussion about Home Owner Associations, I thought it fitting to post this link about AJ Vizzi's court battle with the Eagles master association over his truck parked in the driveway.

Homeowner wins right to park truck in own driveway (http://www.myfoxtampabay.com/dpp/news/local/hillsborough/homeowner-wins-right-to-park-truck-in-own-driveway-072810 - broken link)

Interesting. Thanks! I've been part of HOAs, including on the board, and after that experience, would rather not repeat the experience.

Read about this case. Sounds like the HOA spent a lot of money and should have settled much earlier. Some HOA bylaws need to be changed out of practicality. Don't understand how they can be so stringent. If homeowner's vote and agree, the HOA rules should be changed, imo.

What a waste of money for the HO.

The truck looks nice. It is not like a business truck covered with all advertising.

Size doesn't matter....it how it is maintained

HOA's should go after people who not maintain their yard instead of a person who likes a bigger truck.

Big pickup trucks do kind of contribute a blue collar look to a neighborhood, not exactly in line with a country club.

You'd be surprised at the number of upper middle class/rich guys that drive trucks in order to appear more "down to earth" or something. I see it all the time in South Tampa.

You're right, I've heard that even gay men like to drive those big trucks! I like big cars myself, like the Grand Marquis, but these trucks are so high that they actually block people's view and can cause accidents.

I was surprised that both spent so much money to make a point. And the only people who benefited were the attorneys.

Well I'm sure the truck owner viewed it as his "god given right" to drive what he wants.
