Hello,

I have just graduated law school and am moving to Florida (from Maine) the first of the month. I have a job in Clearwater but I need some help in where to look for a good place to live. I have a child in second grade so the school system is important. To live in a safe complex next to a good school I am willing to commute up to twenty minutes. My budget is pretty open.

I need a three bedroom as I will be bringing my mother with me. I have been looking in the St. Petersburg area and Clearwater but whenever I find a place that looks nice I also find reviews about the complex saying it is filled with roaches or unsafe, etc. So please let me know of the best areas to live in regards to the school system and any apartments you know of that you would recommend. Thank you so much in advance!

Check out Safety Harbor. From what people on here say, it is a safe, family oriented town with good schools.

Palm Harbor. Everyone here recommends it for the school system.

I agree, if you are working in Clearwater, either Palm Harbor or Safety Harbor could fill the bill for you. In your case, since you need an apartment, Palm Harbor might be the better choice. Good luck to you!

Hello,

I agree with the other posters. If you will be working in Clearwater then Palm Harbor, Safety Harbor and even parts of Clearwater would be nice.

You mentioned you are looking for a complex. Do you mean apartments? I don't really know what is available in those areas with regard to apartment complexes.

If you are more specific about what you are looking for in housing i.e. size, price range, etc. I am sure some people on here can give you some recommendations.

Good luck!

Oldsmar some how manages to fall through the cracks (not sure how) but it's schools are on par with both Palm Harbor and Safety Harbor. It's a great location with easy access to both Clearwater and Tampa. You'll find more rental options than Safety Harbor, and probably fewer than Palm Harbor. Another option not mentioned is Tarpon Springs, again the same quality schools and geographically parallel to much of Palm Harbor.

While I like Oldsmar, it is not close to clearwater per se unless you are in Countryside of Clearwater. We don't now where exactly the OP would be worknig. That would help to narrow the places.

Tarpon Springs does not have the quality schools that Palm Harbor has unless you mean the Tarpon area that borders Eastlake 34688 zip code. Oldsmar does have nice rentals in Eastlake Woodlands area, again make sure what school zone you are in!

In Palm harbor on the grounds of the Innisbrook resort is Tuscany which are townhome style and right near there are apartment style ones but I can't remember there name! Also in Palm Harbor on Alt 19 are the villas of San Marino where I rented for a year before I bought (liked it there).
