1- Is there anyone you can have go with you? Have you made any friends here? Who are you staying with?

2- If you don't have a car, do you need a license?

3- Do you have a license from your home country? It should allow you to drive here.

Can you take a driving school course? Perhaps the instructor there might be able to assist you with a vehicle if you take his course? At the least you may be able to get a drivers permit, which will give you a state Identification if that is what you are needing. The Drivers permit you just have to take a written test (well, I believe it is all done on computers now) and not an actual driving test yet because it allows you to drive with a licensed driver with you so that you can practice.

Sounds like you'll fit right in round here - especially during the winters.

I don't have a driver license from my home country since I came to US when I was fifteen. Also yes, I do have I can go with, but I really feel uncomfortable asking for to borrow a car - just because she has a bit of OCD.

I already took the DATA course online and have a certificate for it. I don't know how driving school works here in US so I feel more cautious to choose or find the way. I'm planning to take my permit test since I'm over 18.

I don't have to have a driver license but I prefer to have one because I want to drive around to places such as mall or grocery stores as well as I would like to travel around other cities!

Car I would like to drive is just typical sedan or coupe.

p.s. Thank you for your responses!

You really wouldn't need a license if you don't have access to a car, right?

It's been a while, but I don't think you need a car for a learners permit (restricted license)

yes I do know if I only want restricted one but I want to get an actual license since I still have two years left and might stay in U.S. for extended time. And if I get an license, there's a way to rent a car through school program.

And yes, I have seen the list I need to bring to DMV- it won't be a big problem for me.

You can drive a rental car...but it needs to be in your name as well but for that you need a foreign drivers license at least...

That's why I want to get a driver license here since I'm gonna be here for a while and I don't have a license from home country.
