I just wanted to throw this park's name up here... it is my favorite park in our area. Nice 2 or so mile long "blacktop" trail, around 8'wide, that winds through the woods and along the Alafia. Great for walking, great for walking dogs on a leash, nice for bike riding, lots of nature, safe, at a lot of points you can sit and watch the river flow, boardwalks, a canoe launch, trails, lots of pavillions to cook out, etc... I could go on and on.

Anyone else love this park?

I do. I once caught a six ft long black racer there. And came face to face with an 8ft gator. On second thought, this park is not safe at all. Old Florida at its best.

How about some pictures?

Now lets wait for algia to tell us what is wrong with this park.

If you actually caught an 6' long black racer there you must be Chuck Norris posting under a different name...

Ha, no, It must have just eatin something because it didn't really put up a fight. It might have only been 5 ft, as I was only about 13 or so at the time. But it was larger than my arm span, thats all I know.

No prob, thats cool... just wanted to alert people/new people to a very nice park in our area. Its a little out of the city but, like my moniker, town and country is the way to go... get into nature a little sometimes and leave the world behind.

My old scout troop used to launch our canoes from there all the time.. float down to the scout camp and camp for the night, then continue on to Lithia Springs.. great times at that park.
