hi, I´m new to the area and would like to get some suggestions about a family oriented beach in the Tampa area.
quiet, not much people, NO TOPLESS, no skimpy bikinis, drunks, etc.
just a nice, safe and decent family beach to enjoy with the kids.

That's really just about any beach in the area, honestly. I guess if you want to avoid people, you'd want to avoid Clearwater Beach, and St Pete Beach, but even those beaches aren't exactly packed full of people.

There are not really any topless beaches in this area, unless you count Passage Key.

Not really any beaches in Tampa but if you go over to the St Pete area just about any beach Clearwater and south would fit your needs.
A few of my favorites would be
the northern part of John's Pass
Pass-a-Grill beach
Ft Desoto.

Howard Park in Tarpon Springs....it's very small, but like the rest of the posters, I've never seen any of the things you mentioned at the beaches...enjoy!!!

Well skimpy bikinis or old men in speedos will be just about anywhere there are ppl but you won't find a topless beach. I agree with everyone here there are a ton of beaches just depends on how far you want to drive and if you want to spend money to get to the beach. Caladesi is never crowded but you have to take a ferry unless you have a boat. There are park rangers there plus no drinking.. My favorite beach.. it is only a few minutes to the beach from Dunedin. Check out the info and pics on the link below

Anna Marie Island, if you don't mind driving a little bit to get to Bradenton - and if you don't mind if the police are digging up a potential crime scene.....

I like Anna Maria Island. That is my favorite beach. I had friends from out of state come to visit. They were hell bent on visiting Caladesi. There is a fee for getting on the beach/use of the ferry and you can only spend no more than 4 hours on Caladesi. The next day, we spent all day at Anna Maria Island and they all agreed that Anna Maria Island was better. The next beach I take my family and guests to is Ft. DeSoto, though it is a little more crowded, but never packed. Ft. DeSoto also has showers and a concession stands. I hear there is a nude part of the beach, but it is at the very end of the beach and a hike to get to. You are not likely to casually walk into that area. I have never had an issue with people being drunk and obnoxious. One day I would like to go to Pass-a-grill and John Pass. I have heard nice things about them.

Inidan Rocks Beach and Madeira Beach are good family beaches. These are the beaches we typically go to and never experience any topless or smashed people on the beach. Sure, there may be some people drinking some beer... but they don't appear to be sloshed, loud and making a scene.

Indian Rocks Beach is by far the best to me.
