I live in South Shore and am seeing explosive growth like never before. The traffic has gotten really bad on Big Bend and 301 during rush hours. Makes me wonder where all the people are coming from and why we can't seem to get more shopping venues with the amount of families we have! ?

there are a lot of new subdivisions along US 301 north and south of Big Bend as well as Summerfield Crossings......also over in Ruskin/Apollo Beach - wished they'd put another exit on 19th Ave to ease some of the congestion now that Amazon is here......Sun City Center BLVD is crowded as well and I think that community is looking at discussing getting large trucks off that stretch - too many golf carts dodging big trucks as well......hope an oldtimer doesn't get run over crossing that street.......

41 has gotten really bad in the mornings too. I just hope that someone is planning some type of traffic relief. The mall that was supposed to have been built 5 years ago was supposed to have improved traffic conditions on Big Bend but they claim they can't get retailers to sign leases which I find hard to believe. The lines are noticeably longer all around here which is definitely a downside along with the horrific traffic.

Why has it gotten so crowded there? There must be jobs in that area.

All I can say is that maybe the lower cost of living and perhaps the improved economy are factors. Tampa has an air about it that I've never seen before. It's like its coming alive.

Tampa isn't South Shore. I highly doubt anything going on "in Tampa" has anything to do with Ruskin.

Many people from the north are visiting or relocating to Florida, They gotta live somewhere and it looks like the Tampa bay area is relocation central.
Traffic may ease up a little bit when Spring break is over and/or when the snowbirds go back up north.

People commute from South Shore (Apollo Beach, Ruskin, Gibsonton, Riverview) to Tampa everyday to work their jobs.

Oh, in that case, I guess South Shore IS Tampa then.

No, but when you post "I highly doubt anything going on "in Tampa" has anything to do with Ruskin" - you'd be mistaken.

The towns south and east of Tampa including Brandon might reflect what's happening in Tampa.
