Egg Platter on Gandy? (Tampa, Pinellas Park: house, high school, closing)

I heard an ugly rumor way up here in Missouri that the good old egg platter restaurant is closing, we look forward to breakfasts there when we visit tampa. say it isnt so!!
if it is true, any other good breakfast restaurants in the south tampa area?

There is another Egg Platter in Pinellas Park on Highway 19.

Yes, Egg Platter is closed, but I believe it was only good for 4am breakfasts after a big night out. They are building a CVS there(go figure).

Pach's Place - Bay to Bay Blvd just east of MacDill Ave.
The Brunchery - MacDill Ave just south of Bay to Bay Blvd.
Village Inn and iHop on Dale Mabry Hwy
Waffle House on Westshore Blvd and I-275
First Watch - downtown on Tampa Street

So sad. My Dad's wife worked there for awhile and I went there frequently back in 2000-2001 for breakfast,lunch and dinner. The Egg Platter was the first restaurant that I was introduced to when my son graduated high school back in 1999. Miss the staff,the decor and the food.

That place was only good when you were so drunk or high that you couldnt see 10 feet in front of your car.

I preferred waffle house when I needed to "wait one out"...

Best late day breakfast ever and yes, I was suprised to see that it was closed last time I was over that way. Too bad. HopefullyVillaga Inn still around on Dale Mabry.

Village Inn is my favorite place for breakfast. Great coffee too
