Hello! We are moving from Spring Hill to Clearwater, Safety Harbor, or Oldsmar. We are trying to decide! My husband and I both have good jobs down there, so we aren't moving without employment. We have been doing a lot of research on Clearwater and Safety Harbor since our jobs and kids' schools will be near those locations (daughter will be attending Calvary and son will be attending Skycrest). We hadn't really considered Oldsmar until recently, so I'd like some information on what it is like for young families to live there. Thanks!

Both schools you are mentioning are in Clearwater. Safety Harbor and Oldsmar are next to each other.
There is lots of young ppl in both areas as well as others. It depends on where you are going to live.
Any specific question about Oldsmar?

The schools I mentioned are about a 15 minute drive from Oldsmar, so we figured Oldsmar would be do-able for our family. My biggest question is about homeowner's insurance. We are looking at a stilt home on Shore Drive. How much do you think it would cost to insure such a place? And is that area of Oldsmar prone to flooding frequently?

Next biggest question … how is the crime? Is it safe enough where I'd feel comfortable allowing my kids to ride their bikes around the neighborhood?

Thanks in advance!

If the house is on stilts it is good because it is high and less prone to flooding.
Shore dr. is not prone to flooding. But in case of a hurricane coming this way we all have to leave the house, including me.
Luckily it's been a long time a hurricane has come this way.

As far as crime is concerned it is OK. Occasionally there's something happening like anywhere in today's economy.
Check on the crime reports and you will see , the usual stuff. But it's not a heavy crime area. You just have to be careful , like anywhere else nowadays.

Kids playing outside, I see them all the time.
The RE Olds park at one end of Shore Dr. is awesome! There's also a dog walking area where lots of residents go in the afternoon.
I'm talking about the area around the Oldsmar Pier.
Any other question you can PM me.
