If you are talking about concentrations of Office Space in the Tampa area: Westshore District, I-75 Corridor from New Tampa to Brandon/Riverview, Downtown Tampa, Gateway(St. Pete) There is office space spread out most areas, the Westshore Area(which is all mostly around the airport, Rocky Point, Westshore, Spruce St/Boy Scout Blvd) is the largest in the state, and 5th largest in the country.

There aren't a lot of companies based in this area.

I've seen TechData and Fortress Technologies, but I do not see many other companies HQed in Tampa.

There are LOTS of companies headquartered here, (A few just in the city of Tampa you have Outback-OSI, Rooms to Go, Walter Industries, Global Imaging Systems, Sykes Enterprises, Syniverse Technologies, Maritrans, Inc.)

Many major corporations also have there main Regional Offices located in the Bay area(Citi, MetLife, Coca-Cola, Home Depot, Progressive, Raymond James, T-Mobile, USAA, Bank of America, etc.)

PricewaterhouseCoopers also has its National Administration Center in Tampa. They have accounting and computer jobs. IBM is also located in Tampa but getting on with them is tough. They have 2 office complexes. There are also helpdesk jobs (they do computer support for outside companies) to be had but I know the starting pay for them use to be pretty low and it is a 24/7 support

Is St. Pete/Clearwater a big job center too, or is it mainly on the Tampa side? I've seen a few white collar jobs advertised for there on Monster, etc., but I can't get a sense if this is the norm. Thanks.

This is great.

Keep them coming.

One of my concerns about moving to Tampa is the lack of other companies. Coming from Atlanta, there are a ton of companies that are HQed there and many regional offices as well.
