Hi,

Has anyone had any good experience or recommendations for a place I can board my dog? I want something that is affordable. I've heard of Canine Cabana...

I have used Almost Home Pet Resort in Valrico for many years and love them. Check out their website and see if they are in line with what you are willing to pay.

I just took my dog to Canine Cabana a couple months ago. Extremely friendly, VERY VERY VERY clean.

Little pricy, sure, I think the base price is like 15 or 20 per night and then you have to pay them to play with your dog. I think it ended up being about 40 per night for the stay and for them to play with my dog 1x a day and take him out an extra 2x per day. With the base price they dont play with your dog at all and they take them out 3x a day.

Definitely worth the price though, those people really care about the animals there.

Edit to add: the pay for play is not an unusual thing before people start judging them for that. Every dog kennel i've had my dog in has an extra fee to play with your dog.

Its worth mentioning that both of the owners are also ex-zoo keepers Funny enough, even though it was a dog kennel, i didnt smell a dog at all when I was there. They said they scrub it top to bottom every single day. If you opt for the play option, they either do group play, or if you dog is skiddish around other dogs, they'll play with your dog alone (no extra charge). My dog is terrified of other dogs, so I liked that they played with him 1 on 1.
