Lightbulb Drink an umbrella drink for me!

Hello, Well want to go to the beach hu! Well are you just looking to relax or are you looking to find a place to hang and party a little.

A nice spot near Tampa I like to party at would be Clearwater beach Shepherds. It has a very nice Tikki bar with a live band, great food, drinks and at night they have a club. Here is the Link to the website you can get directions there Clearwater Beach Hotel - Shephard's Beach Resort and Hotel in Clearwater, Florida

Now if your looking for a place just to relax and enjoy I recommend Siesta Key Beach its in Sarasota Florida about an hour drive but well worth it. It was rated one of the top 3 beaches in Florida on entertainment on E Channel. The water is nice and blue plus the sand is 80% quartz so its like a fine powder sand and never gets hot! So the sun is beaming and your relaxing on the cold sand like if it was night time. It is awesome, I recently went out there 3-4 weeks ago with my girlfriend we had a great time. Here is a link the the Siesta key beaches, you can get info and directions there. Siesta Key, Florida Siesta Key Information and Accommodations Siesta Beach

Well I hope that helps and drink one umbrella drink for me. Hey I might see you there.

For relaxing closer to New Tampa, take a 45 min drive(with no traffic) to Fort DeSoto Park's North Beach. Park along the road where you see other cars parked, walk over the dunes to your own private seculded beach area....the beaches area is wide so there is PLENTY of space.

If you just want to be by the water to think, a quick trip to the beach on Hwy 60/Courtney Campbell Causeway might work in pinch (you can swim/sun there as well), it's on Tampa Bay. Also on the Bay are the beaches along the Gandy Bridge, and the old bridge runs along side it - the Friendship Trail - and is for pedestrians and bikers. Lastly, head downtown and take a walk along Bayshore. These are all alternatives that might be a good quick fix as well on days you can't make the drive all the way over to the Gulf.

You should check out Caladesi and Honeymoon Island. It is off of Alt 19 and Hillsborough. I am not sure the best way to tell you to go but probably 54 to 19 or suncoast to Hillsborough Ave. I personally like that area better than Ft DeSoto, everytime have been to Ft. DeSoto the tide has been out. Everyone has their favorite. Take a drive to Sarasota to Long Boat Key. Beautiful beach and the water is beautiful
Pass-a-grille is nice too but you have to pay to park. The hurricane restaurant has good food and a roof top deck. Grouper sandwiches are good.

This is the season for sand dollars. Can't take them if they are alive but you can find a lot of them in the water in the sand. I use to find them off of Caledisi
