i notice more and more the people who are texting and driving. they are the ones who have the 30 second delayed response at lights, or drive 30-40 on 275, or wander around the lanes.

Absolutely insane. And they havent a clue how dangerous it is..How astounding is it when legislation has to be initiated to force people to actually look where they are going when driving.

I see it all the time. Most often on I4 corridor between Tampa and Orlando. Many business people are conducting work enroute to Orlando/Tampa - whether it being on the phone or their texting. Its pretty obvious as they're usually 10 mph slower than the rest of the traffic. Very irritating to witness.

An acquaintance of mine was rear ended by someone who was texting a couple months ago. He was stopped at a light and the guy slammed into him at 30 mph. Never even looked up or touched his brakes. Unbelievable.

3 people tried to hit me with their cars today: 2 head on, and one that couldn't see my turning signal from over 300 feet! (I turn it on earlier in the hopes that those who text might raise their heads once in while)

I literally had two people drive on MY side of the road, and one who apparently didn't see me in the left lane trying to turn left and started driving at me! My horn is very raspy right now! I am trying to think of creative ways to make my car stand out more!

Hopefully he is ok in general. You see the stories of people getting wiped out because of texting and it just is hard to believe. I thought cell phone usage without hands free was bad but at least you can keep your eyes on the road while talking. With texting you are basically driving while not looking at the road.

He's generally OK, just in quite a bit of pain still. And he says he has an almost irresistible urge to scream out his window at people who are texting while driving now. Ha. Who could blame him?

His story scares me because while his backseat was empty, mine would have had my children in it.
