Hi all, Im planning a holiday this time next year with my wife and im after a bit of local advise. We're planing to fly into New York and stay a couple of days there to hook up with my wifes brother ( we're from UK btw) then we fly to Cayman for ten or so days to see my sister then we're thinking about flying back into Miami or Tampa then a bit of a sightseeing (mostly southern cuisine sampling)for a few days and driving to either Charlotte ,Houston via New Orleans or Atlanta .. all of which fly back into Manchester UK .Any local insight and advise would be appreciated..which route would be better/more enjoyable...need to sample great southern food.. ribs.. steaks.. shrimp..burgers..chicken etc..I think you get the idea...thanks

If you want to sample southern cuisine and culture, you should not set foot in Miami/Lauderdale/Palm Beach. Tampa Bay would be much better for that. I would target Sarasota and St. Petersburg for more of a city vibe, then for a smaller town vibe Dunedin comes to mind.

Ok,we have decided to head for Charlotte as I have managed to trace an old school friend who lives in Waxhaw NC, we are torn between the romantic idea of hiring an open top cadillac and staying in motels or what we call a camper van and staying in camp sites.
