Did anyone else just get a big drop in their auto insurance rates? I am with Geico and had the lowest rate I could find anywhere and just got my six month renewal and my rate dropped 12% and that is with a new car as well.

Wondering about Geico and the 6 month maximum.

What's going to happen @ renewal? They gave us a pretty decent rate, but not for 12 months! Just a 6 month rate.

I had them for the previous 6 months at the best rate I could find anywhere and my new renewal with them just dropped 12%.

Geico is cheap but absolutely terrible to deal with if you need them. We had them, got in a wreck ( not at fault ) and dealing was a nightmare. I wont ever go back to them thats for sure.

as far as the rates, mine did drop too on my wifes that just renewed through state farm. About 100 for 6 months which made me happy.

We needed them once and they were fine. Don't know how they compare though, as that was the only time we needed insurance.

I just obtained new auto insurance today through 21st Century. $1114 every 6 months for 3 drivers, 3 vehicles. I am paying a little over $1400 every 6 months with my current insurance. The renewal would have cost over $1600. Nobody could explain the reason for the increase, so I went shopping.

I am so sorry for your wife's injuries. I know just how painful that can be. I hope she and the child are okay now.

My insurance rates keep going up, it seems. According to Florida auto insurance rates climbing steadily | Tampa Bay Times , I know it's an old article, but the basic issue still remains.

"The problem: PIP claims have skyrocketed in Florida, along with allegations of PIP fraud. Insurers and the state investigators cite increased reports of staged accidents in which people with minor or no injuries go to medical clinics for treatment and those clinics, in turn, collect up to $10,000 per person in insurance payouts."

With that being said, the cheapest insurance rates I got living here in Tampa Bay area was from Lykes Insurance - their contact info is listed first at this page - Tampa Auto Insurance

No. We have USAA. We should be coming up for renewal soon. Our insurance is really low as it is though-even for full coverage, and we didn't skimp out on anything either.
