That is what I was going to recommend. You can watch the flight arrival board and know that the guest will be calling soon and you just mosey right over and pick them up.

I can't speak for Thanksgiving, but I had to put someone on a flight on Christmas Day a couple of years ago and the place was like a ghost town.

Well, i'm hoping that the place isn't very crowded as most people would have traveled by then. I'll report my experience on Friday.

We are going to park in short term since we are going to pick up our 2:30 guest and then wait for the 3:30 guest. Not enough time to drop the 1st guest off at home and then get back to the airport. And its nice to have someone meet you in the airport when its your first time traveling there.

Sitting in the E terminal right now, waiting for my Delta flight, and it is dead!

Well, zero traffic driving to the airport on Thursday at 2 pm. Got a spot on level 5 of the Short Term Parking Lot. Hardly anyone in the airport, baggage claim, TGI Fridays, the shops or waiting for people to get off of the tram. It was really a really good airport experience. Thanksgiving day is a great time to travel.

I've traveled on Christmas Day and Thanksgiving and found the same. Guess the only issue might be people stranded due to weather.

The day before (Wednesday, a very high traffic travel day) was just as dead. Walked right up the check-in counter, right through security, and my flight was half empty.

TPA might be just small enough to avoid the crazy on big days like that.
