U-Pick Farms in Florida

U-Pick Season Opens in Hillsborough County | World of Westchase

Where in West Florida to find pick your own farms and orchards for fruit, vegetables, pumpkins and canning & freezing instructions! (scroll down to Hillsborough county.)
Most of the info/posts are old, but the farm may still exist. Contact info is posted to verify.

One of the best things Ive enjoyed about moving to Seffner from Miami (besides actually getting some cold weather in winter) is the proximity of U-Pick as wells as local farmer's markets. I also love being able to grow my own fruit and veggies. Besides citrus and tropical fruit (mangoes/avocados,) I have everything from apples to cherries to raspberries (and a lot more) growing in my yard.

There's a blueberry farm on John Moore (parsons) in brandon that is usually open April-May.

Since we're close upon strawberry season, there are a few farms in Plant City that are open to "you pick." Parksdale is a big one.

To the south, Hunsader Farms in Bradenton is a popular destination and a great learning experience.

In Pasco County, there are some blueberry farms but I can't seem to find the lady that advertises every year. There's a Blueberry Festival in Brooksville in April so I'm assuming they will be best for picking during that time.

There are several hydroponic gardens in the area but those you pay to participate. Urban Oasis is on Linebaugh Ave in Northwest Tampa.
