You will need at least two before the multiply. They are sold as pets. So are Anoles (green chameleons).

Cut off the food supply and it will go elsewhere for its food.

I hope they're not freaking multiplying! Scroll down....definitely don't want 10-30 of them around!

Why are they selling them up north? That's ridiculous!

Is this something a pest control can handle???

Found this for you ...

"Q: How do you get rid of skinks? Is there some kind of chemical we can spray?

A: Removing all ground litter (leaves, pieces of bark, and other hiding places) close to your house may help. I know of no chemical that would eliminate skinks without being harmful to many other animals, and possibly yourselves. Skinks are part of the environment in most southern regions, so a permanent solution is not likely." ...

and this ...

"Do not spray pesticide in areas where skinks bask and forage. Five-lined skinks are beneficial creatures to have around your house and garden. They consume large amounts of insects and spiders and do not pose a threat to humans or animals."

They most certainly aren't poisonous. They're harmless. How, exactly are they getting into the house? That's what I'd be concerned about. Because if they're getting in, chances are other things are as well...

Do you have alot of wood up against your house? They like to go in that. I think a female would have laid eggs a couple months ago so maybe they did that in your yard.

They are very gentle and peaceful. Shy. No reason to freak out. Makes no sense that he keeps coming INSIDE because all the bugs are OUTSIDE. Maybe the babies were born close by your door. But yeah, if a skink can get in so can a SNAKE.

Take a brown paper bag like from the grocery store and open in up in front of him. gently put a paper or something under him and he'll go forward inside the bag. Then fold the opening over and lift the bag up GENTLY and carry him outside somewhere and release.

Don't let your kids pick him up by the tail. It will break off.

Why not make it a project for your kids? You can order ladybugs and release them if you have a garden-ish. I'm guessing they'd eat them. Or small mealworms. That'll keep him OUTSIDE hopefully. Then again, they eat a lot LOL.

Lizards are good, they eat bugs. If they bother you just catch them and put them outside. You may have to take them farther than the doorstep.

Through the sliding door! We've had sliding doors all the time...not sure why this is different? This is the first year that we saw one inside. Is there a sliding door lizard stopper that we should know about?
