I am a 40 year old single professional woman. I will be moving to the Tampa/St. Pete area soon. Any recommendations for areas to live? I do not want an area with many retirement communities or all families. I would also like a low crime area but where the houses are around $200,000-300,000. I will be working in both the St. Pete area and Brandon. Thanks!

Try Downtown St. Pete. Also Gulfport which attracts a lot of singles of all ages.

Hi - We are *almost* your demographic (DINKs in our 40s) and just moved to Gulfport. So far we love it!

I will be moving to the tampa bay area for a new job at Florida hospital off of E. Fletcher Avenue in Tampa. Did you have any luck trying to find a good place to live? I am probably going to have to get a temporary place for a week or 2 since I have to move in a week due to a last minute job offer! I am looking for an affordable, safe and relatively quiet place without too much traffic if that's possible!

There are a ton of apt complexes off of 4th Street Northin St Pete. I don't know about housing in Tampa though, sorry.
