Saw on the news that the Linebaugh Ave - Gunn Hwy intersection will be undergoing improvements shortly. Well, it's a start. That intersection is pretty abysmal and unintuitive. But an equal, or likely greater, area of impact would be the nearby Dale Mabry - Waters intersection, where traffic backs up to a standstill every morning.

For some reason, traffic sails along on Dale Mabry just fine until it backs up severely at Waters, then goes smoothly again right after Waters.

Fix THAT intersection, fix traffic flow for the whole west side of Tampa.

That intersection (DM/W) has been that way since they started building what at the time was called "New Carrollwood". Forty plus years later and a few small improvements done, we are still looking at a parking lot.

Yeah, I don't understand the lack of effort regarding that intersection. If traffic flows fine before and after that intersection, what does that tell you?

They need to do to Dale Mabry what they did to US 19 in Pinellas, eliminate all the traffic lights.
