I live in Cape Coral and unfortunately hubbie has been diagnosed with cancer.
He is being treated at Moffitt which is one hell of a ride up 75, so toying with idea of selling here and moving closer to Tampa.

New Tampa, Wesley Chapel or even Temple Terrace if schools are not an issue

Agree with Wesley Chapel and New Tampa. Temple Terrace has some niceness to it but is otherwise surrounded by areas that, um, suffer from a lack of niceness...

As for Moffitt, it is not without reason that it rhymes with "profit". If something doesn't sound right to you, I would recommend seeking a 2nd opinion.

All the best to you and your husband.

Just an FYI njkate, my husband had a relapse and was treated at Moffitt (had 6 months of intense chemo followed by stem cell transplant). We spent countless hours/days, even 4 weeks as inpatient at Moffitt. I cannot say enough about the quality of care we received by everyone we encountered there. They of corse focus on the sick patient but they have so much to offer family members as well. I wish you and your husband well.

We lived right on the boarder of the allowable 30 minute distance. They had to have a meeting to decide if we would be able to go home after he was released after the stem cell transplant. Fortunately we were able to go home. I agree with the locations that The Chap suggested, 1) New Tampa, 2) parts of Wesley Chapel or 3) Temple Terrace

I'd find a place in Temple Terrace. Best of wishes. Can't imagine what you have to go through.

Thanks !! Kind of concentrating on that area as also have Bay Pines, as don't know when his insurance will max out and I can at least use VA for MRI, Pet and Ct scans.
Doc at Moffitt understands this and said would work with VA docs.

Brandon isn't far either. I'd say 20-25 mins from VA/Moffitt. They have one of those Extended Stay America where I'd guess you'd get a monthly rate. Close to a cinema, restaurants, mall.

Address: 330 Grand Regency Blvd, Brandon, FL 33510

I'm so sorry your hubby is sick. I'm sure you don't need the added expense of gas on top of it all. Carrollwood area might be okay too. Or Lake Magdalene area.
God bless you guys. Godspeed!
