Are you looking for a larger or smaller area? Tampa is the largest city with some great spots like SoHo and HydePark for a younger, single crowd. St. Petersburg is closer to the beaches and a little smaller than Tampa. I've only ever "done" downtown St. Pete, Grand Central which are pretty cool; the city as a whole is an older population and more spread out than Tampa. Dunedin is North Tampa Bay area and is smaller, but wealthy and I think more of an artsy community (I've only ever been to HoneyMoon Island there, which BTW is GORGEOUS!).

V, the area L is talking about is in Zip 33606. In Tampa, SoHo stands for South Howard (Avenue). You should now be able to lookup suitable properties and get an idea about location, pricing, etc. And walking distance to MacDinton's has always been a good thing.

MacDinton's is great, but I prefer the Dubliner
BTW, there is also 33629 portions of SoHo (West side of S. Howard to East side of MacDill; a very cute section of the neighborhood).
