Where to live? Relocating to Tampa and office/work locations will also include Lakeland,Brooksville,Palm Harbor,Brandon,Thonotossa. Will need to travel to each of these locations through the week. what is a realistic location within an hour or less of each during peak season. I was looking at houses in Spring Hill, so affordable and you get a lot for your money but seems pretty far. is it? suggestions please. relocating from suburb in NY, so culture shock here we come. thank you!

Spring Hill/Brooksville is 45 or so miles from Tampa. To Lakeland it's 55 or so miles.

You may want to look at a more centralized location. Wesley Chapel perhaps.

I would look in the New Tampa area. Thonotossa-lakeland would be east of you, Brooksville to the north, Brandon to the south while palm harbor would be to the west. All would be in the one hour time distance and New Tampa has many housing options in a newer, growing area.

I would rather live in Detroit than current day Brandon/Riverview area. Dont make a mistake and move here. First off the Traffic is terrible and will just get worse , homeless people have been setting up camps near Walmart, rent went up 100 dollars in the last year in many apartment complexes in the area. Crime is increasing and the Sheriffs department and Fire Rescue Department are at its limit as far as personnel with the rapid growth. Its urban sprawl at its worst and its an hour drive to and from a decent beach. Car insurance is very high here if your under 45 in any parts of the area especially Hillsborough County. I also lived in Pinellas County and climbing Mount Everest is easier than not getting hit by cars doing u turns on US19 in Palm Harbor and Clearwater.

Trust me this place is no picnic despite the positives of a warm winter, nice beaches and no state income tax , the infrastructure clearly cant handle the population increase from people moving here from all 50 states and hundreds of countries. I lived here 15 years and the last year or two were the worst with the rising costs of living, growth, crime and accidents.

When you mention all those cities, is it because you will be traveling to each one for work, like a regional manager and such? Or do you have a main location and traveling to all those locations once in a while?

Spring Hill is cheap, but too far to travel to everyone of those, except Brooksville.

Since Lakeland, Brandon and Thonotosassa are closer to a cluster than the rest, I would recommend Plant City. In-laws used to live there and work at Lakeland and by the Casino (after Thonotosassa), so it was centrally located to both locations, about a 30 minute drive (10+ years ago). There are cheap areas there as well.

This wont be close to Brooksville or Palm Harbor, but you can use I-4 to I-75 for Brooksville, and I-4 to several options to Palm Harbor (no easy way).

[Exactly, for work I need to travel to all of those locations. not every day but at least a once a week/two weeks. I'll check out plant city too!]
