Yeah, let's just waste 1.4 million for some garbage study...
Think about the coverage area first to compare apples to apples

That's true. Considering Florida was given federal money for high speed rail project AND there were no need to buy right of way along I-4 between Tampa and Orlando or along Bruce B Downs to connect new Tampa/ Wesley Chapel to USF area, and considering how much Disney were willing to invest in exchange of train stop within their area AND considering all local public transit agencies were developing plans and commitments to provide better coverage to encourage people to use transit dick killed the deal. People need to understand changes like that will not happen overnight. And without start there will be no finish. Having such a great growing area with pretty much no transit options is a shame. People keep complaining about traffic on major roads and want 20 lanes in each direction (like right of way and construction cost nothing + I am imagining the amount of complaints during the construction), but all they will be seeing is toll lanes and toll roads. Thanks god we are getting Ferry LOL LOL LOL

Yep, that's what usually happens. It becomes a long term financial noose around the taxpers throats.

I don't see them boats making any money here. You have to run them hard and the cost to rebuild them engines are 70k a pop and they have to be run hard day in and out to make the speed needed.

Have you seen the Airtrain at JFK? It runs right down the center of the Van Wyck Expressway. If it can be done there it can be done anywhere.

This.

Then add to the fact that a good chunk of Tampa's population comes from a certain city (they don't like being identified as such...) whose initials are NYC. They don't drive there, they come over here and are now forced to learn how to drive....

Look, alls I'm saying is, a decent form of mass transit would do wonders for Tampa.
