When i lived in Phoenix there were a few community centers where you could take short classes to learn various arts, craft and skills. It was cheap, classes were in the evenings and would last anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks.
Is there anywhere around here like that? I'd love to find some leatherworking, welding and other classes to occupy some evenings.

Almost all counties/cities sponsor classes; community colleges and even 4 year colleges. OP needs to google for those nearest to where they live or want to take classes.
