Chris Archer, 25,000 Cubs fans and Tampa Bay's painful truth | Tampa Bay Times

Annoying bandwagon, frontrunner transplants who don't support their home team are a PITA. Glad the Bucs and Rays roughed up the Chicago teams this week.

Dude, give it a rest ... seriously. You really expect a city comprised of northern and midwestern transplants to abandon their hometown loyalties just because they moved to the Tampa area ? Obviously, most of the native Floridians don't give a rat's arse about baseball or you wouldn't have this issue. Without those transplants, you wouldn't have a team. And it ain't gonna change in your lifetime.

Odd that in 2008, World Series season, those frontrunning carpet baggers adopted them did the same for the 2002 World Champion Buccaneers.

What's odd is that people like you don't understand hometown loyalty and not changing teams when you move. Some people move a lot - are they supposed to always drop the current team and adopt the new one ?

Since Florida is more a football state, I would bet that a lot of Buc fans are Florida natives or folks from places that have no NFL team, i.e. Orlando. As for the 2008 Rays season, how do you know those who filled the stands were not fans of other teams ?

You and Duemig ought to get together in a sweat house and commiserate about local fan loyalty.

Officially eliminated last night. Not too bad. Still under .500. But at least they got to the end of Sept. Some seasons they're out of it by July.

As a baseball fan, you got to like those Twins. 103 losses last season, and now in the playoffs.

could be the Rays next year - just shows how a team can turn things around and the Twins are similar in that they have salary constraints like the Rays.
