I don't expect to make money my first year in business. I was thinking of some kind of business similar to a head hunter, only people simply pay me to search for jobs for them and send them web links and such. I know a couple people who used this type of service where they paid someone who's would look for jobs for them and send them links to the apps, listing and a summary of it because they simply don't have time to look for a job all day.

Job hunting really does suck. Most of it is all online now and having to weed through tons of listings. Then you have to spend an hour or more filling out the app on TALEO.

The hard part of this is pricing and workload. I don't want to underprice the service so much that people think it's a joke or that I get bombarded with business due to it being so cheap and then not able to provide adequate service.

Was thinking something like commercial cleaning like that of offices and retail stores but have to figure in workers comp insurance along with liability insurance and finding decent employees who don't steal.

All these stupid house hunting shows and house rehab shows are as real as a 3 dollar bill. Between the typical airhead blonde hosts these shows have I don't know what's worse. I can't stand it when my mom watches these shows.

I noticed the Episode # on HGTV site is S128 E7, my DVR shows as S128 E11. According to upcoming showings on my DVR this episode is not scheduled for airing in the next 2 weeks.

Looking at the episode scheduling it may be they ran this episode out of order as S128 E6 just aired for first time last night.

Update: Saw article in local paper, episode will air June 23rd.

Big time. Not sure what the show was thinking. There are lots of homebuyers looking in far nicer areas around here who they could sync up with to film their fake show.

Sorry for bringing this back up, but a big THANK YOU for showing this clip.

My husband and two girls (8 and 9) want to move to Tampa next summer, with the plans of renting for two years before buying. We are in the process of starting our own business as a home based travel agency, working as independent contractors through a large travel host agency. My husband full time and me on a part time basis since I can't handle too much stress. We are having to reinvent ourselves because I was the primary income earner in our household, but I had to go on long term disability the end of last year due to a worsening mental illness, and my husband was phased out of his job early this year. Our goal was to use this year to save up what we could to be able to afford rent in Tampa, then save up money for two years to buy a house after two years of renting.

Even though we really don't want to buy a townhome, I was so focused on saving every penny to find our "dream" home that I lost sight of the fact that we could find a modest home for our family and maybe get out of the rental rut sooner. I'm in my late thirties and we have rented all of our lives, between going to different schools, me looking to go back to grad school who knows where, and us just not knowing where we would both find good full time jobs so we could finally settle. Our agency will focus on cruises, so the idea of moving from NC to Florida was ideal since there are so many cruise ports there, and being home based we could live anywhere with a phone and good internet service. 😊 Tampa does seem expensive to me, so it was very eye opening to think maybe we could buy modestly sooner, renovate and turn it into what we really want over time, or eventually sell to get that dream house, whatever makes the most financial sense. We are serious about this, which is why we are spending so much time training and learning how to make our business successful, and spending a year researching the move. Watching this gave me so many more ideas to consider. Thanks!

That whole channel "HGTV" is full of crap. Everyone's rich and they never go into the legal technical details & risks of house shopping.
