I'm going to college in Tampa and I'm VERY concerned about so many things because I've only been there once I'd really appreciate information on everything you'd assume a college girl would like to know....such as....library (yes I'm a geek) stores, the diversity acceptance (is there any?), jobs, entertainment, ANYTHING and EVERYTHING I'd like to get information from the people that live there because it means so much more from you than the admissions director....

Right now I'm at a loss for specifics regarding info requests but I'll post it when it comes to mind...thanks

Oh and beaches!! I love to swim...how 'busy' are your beaches and are they dirty (pollution, garbage everywhere)

I know about IADT, it's near George Road, I believe.

I'll try to help you as best as I can given that you didn't give out any specifics.

Libraries....considering that I'm more of a bookstore/order online type of person, I can't help you with that. But do google search for libraries in Tampa.

There is a good amount of diversity in Tampa so you should have no problem in that area.

Entertainment - Tampa has a decent nightlight. I say decent because in my opinion it could be more thriving, especially in the downtown area. Even with that said, I still manage to find something to do when I want, even if it's just to visit a nearby beach in Clearwater.

There are libraries, but I have to agree with the bookstore as the place to go. They have chairs and coffee shops in most of them, you can read through the books. There is a small library not to far from IADT in Town N Country. The main library is downtown. Depending on where you live, there might be a library nearby.

There are apts nearby IADT, be sure to ask here about ones you are considering.

IADT International Academy of Design and Technology is on the NW side of the County. Just west of Tampa Intl Airport, and a little north of where Memorial Hwy and Babe Z. (Old Memorial) golfcourse is. Lots of Apts around there. Go north a bit to Hillsborough Ave and head west and you'll find a little more upscale living options.

Diversity is alive and well in this area. Jobs? Not sure what you're looking for but you might try your hand at being a Starbucks Barista at the coffee shop at the SE corner of Hillsborough and Memorial/Sheldon.

The golf course is Rocky Point not Babe Z. FWIW.. There are some restaurants nearby plus a Ross and TJ Max, also International mall and Westshore mall if you are looking for retail jobs.

I'm considering the student housing which is simply apartment complexes with contracts w/ the school, such as "Preserve at Mobbley Bay", Tucany Bay, The Preserve at Westchase"
Westchase looks very nice via internet but I of course don't know about that apartment either...

I live in Westchase so you can ask me anything about the community and area. The Preserve is very nice. I've been in different units there and was impressed.
