I am moving back to Florida April 1, and I need to find new doctors. I am posting this to both the Orlando and Tampa forums because where I am moving is pretty much equidistant from both cities on HWY 60. I have intermittent AFIB so I will be looking for a Cardiologist, Electrophysiologist as well as a regular doctor and I need to know about the best hospitals in the areas.

I would suggest Tampa General. It's a national caliber hospital that receives patients from all over for varying specialties and ranked 2nd in the state behind only the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville for it's Cardiology Department. https://health.usnews.com/best-hospi...spital-6391060

I am looking very carefully at Tampa General, and I have sent an inquiry to Michael G. Fradley. MD.
Dr. Fradley completed his undergraduate training, with a major in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry, at Yale University, where he graduated *** laude. He earned his doctor of medicine degree at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital – Osler Medical Residency Program. He then went on to complete fellowships in both Cardiology and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at Massachusetts General Hospital. His resume kind of jumped out at me.

The Orlando forum cheerleaders say it's better there because of some new facilities. but they just don't have the same expertise/experience as what you'll find at Tampa General or the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. You were wise to perform some due diligence. Good luck!

Tampa General, for sure. A teaching hospital is always the best choice, as they have a well educated staff and are usually better versed on the latest procedures due to their research component.
